The Omaha Crawl

The Omaha Crawl

Get to knOmaha.

Our city is one of the fastest growing in the country. And with good reason: It's awesome. And as stewards of the EIB, we need to know what makes it awesome. It's our job to be knowledgeable about the lesser-known destinations and random bits of trivia. The infamous characters. The occasional ghost story.

And it's fun.

Plus, when you tour your own city, you get:

  • To see it in a new light. With new appreciation.
  • An expanded sense of history and heritage.
  • A sense of pride -- something to share with friends (and clients) who visit.
  • Enriched time in your city: new experiences, new places to explore, new things to do.
  • To know the story of Omaha. It's your story, too -- embrace it.

See where you live through fresh eyes. See it like a tourist. Enthusiasm for our own city makes us that much happier to call it home.

  1. Grab your map and fanny pack.

We'll start the day at BL at 9:00AM sharp for a quick breakfast and then pile onto Ollie the Trolley for an in-depth tour of hOmaha starting at the Durham Museum. We'll take in some famous architecture, learn about some of our city's (somewhat nefarious) history, sample local food and drinks, and hear stories about famous residents past and present. We'll give our city a ton of undivided attention: the way only a tourist can.

  2. Make sure there’s film in your camera.

Let’s take a driving tour of South Omaha, exploring the old Livestock Exchange Building – current home to El Museo Latino – the 24th Street business district, Kenefick Park, the Botanical Gardens, Little Italy and more. Then we’ll swing by Creighton, the Joslyn Museum and Castle, St. Cecilia’s Cathedral and a few places of interest in Dundee.

  3. Rest. Regroup. Consult your compass.

Next up, we’ll stop for brats and beers (and more) at Bärchen in Benson. We’ll get in teams for a game of Omaha trivia and test our knowledge of everything we know about the history of the city – and BL. Then we’ll head to Beercade for drinks and arcade games.

  4. Call it a day.

Every long day of sightseeing should end with a drink. Let’s head back Downtown. Anyone who wants to call it a day can head home from the office and whoever wants to keep going can come out for cocktails and apps in the Old Market – on BL.
